Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Coventry

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Temporary to Permanent Opportunities

Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs? Do you want to make a real difference in a child's life? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment in Coventry.

About the Role:

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning. You will provide 1:1 or small group support in the classroom and in therapeutic settings, helping students build confidence, develop resilience, and achieve personal and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, parents, and carers
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEN
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • The ability to de-escalate challenging situations professionally
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (, CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, or similar) - desirable but not essential
