Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) at a welcoming school in Slough. The role focuses on developing communication, independence, learning and wellbeing while working closely with teachers, therapists and families.

The successful candidate will support personalised learning, assist with routines and use AAC where appropriate, contributing to a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Encourage independence and participation in learning activities.
• Support students with PMLD and complex needs to access the curriculum.
• Follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and personalised learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with PMLD.
• Assist students with communication, interaction, independence, and social skills.
• Support personal care, feeding, toileting, mobility and other needs as required.
• Use visual supports, signs, symbols, and AAC where appropriate.
• Create a calm, safe, and stimulating learning environment and monitor progress.
