Job summary

PK Education in the United Kingdom is seeking a PMLD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to tailor support, enabling communication, independence and engagement in meaningful activities.

Qualifications

Experience supporting pupils with complex needs is desirable, but training will be provided.
Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex learning and additional needs.
Support pupils to access engaging, personalised learning activities.
Encourage communication through a range of approaches, including AAC, symbols, objects of reference and sensory communication, where appropriate.
Support pupils with personal care, feeding and mobility needs in a respectful and dignified manner.
Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals.
Observe and record pupils' progress and contribute to their individual targets.
Promote pupils' independence, confidence and participation in school life.
