Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties in a specialist SEN setting in Maidenhead. The role involves assisting with personal care, adapting activities, and contributing to personalised learning programmes.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to promote communication, independence and wellbeing. A full-time, on-site September start is expected; Enhanced DBS is required, with training

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assist with personal care, feeding and mobility where required
• Support sensory-based and play-based learning activities
• Deliver individualised learning programmes tailored to each pupil
• Promote communication using alternative methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory cues)
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
• Encourage engagement, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Support pupils with medical and physical needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
