Northcote M&E is seeking a highly skilled plumbing labourer or plumber to work on NHS site works in Birmingham for two days. The role involves assisting a senior plumber on site with valve replacement, pipework replacements, and press-fit installations, with night work after the main day shift.

Candidates should have commercial plumbing experience, familiarity with press-fitting systems, water hygiene knowledge, a CSCS card, and an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial plumbing, ideally in healthcare or other live, occupied buildings.
• Confident using press fitting systems (e.g. Viega, Geberit Mapress, Conex)
• Understanding of water hygiene and Legionella control (L8 / HTM 04-01 awareness is a plus)
• Valid CSCS card
• Enhanced DBS check required (current certificate or willing to apply before starting)
• Reliable, tidy, punctual and respectful working around patients and staff
• Own basic hand tools; press gun supplied / own press gun preferred
• Available on both Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th October

Plumber / Skilled Plumbing Labourer - NHS Site Works

Location: Birmingham

Pay: £24-£25 per hour

Contract: 2 days, Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th October 2026 (nightwork after)

Hours: 7:00 - 17:00

About the role

• Removing and replacing calcified pipework
• Removing dead legs to improve water hygiene
• Installing and replacing pipe lagging
• Press-fit installation (copper and stainless) - all press gun work, minimal hot works
