Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking experienced Freelance Plumbers to work on a large high-rise residential development in Birmingham. This long‑term contract involves carrying out 1st and 2nd fix installations, hot and cold water service work, and networked pipework in a demanding multi-storey setting.

You will read drawings, test and commission systems, and maintain safety with PPE and CSCS card. Independent work and reliable, high-quality output are essential for successful delivery on schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Card.
• Experience as a plumber on residential new-build or high-rise projects.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Own hand tools and PPE.
• Strong understanding of plumbing installation methods.
• Good communication and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

Freelance Plumber - High-Rise Residential Project

About the Role

We are recruiting experienced Freelance Plumbers to work on a large, high‑rise residential development in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long‑term work on a flagship construction project with a well‑established M&E contractor.

You'll be responsible for delivering high‑quality plumbing installations while working alongside other trades to ensure the project is completed safely, efficiently and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out 1st and 2nd fix plumbing installations.
• Install hot and cold water services.
• Install soil, waste and rainwater pipework.
• Fit sanitaryware and associated plumbing fixtures.
• Read and work from drawings and site plans.
• Pressure test and commission plumbing systems where required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Follow site health and safety procedures at all times.
• Liaise with supervisors and site management to ensure work is completed to schedule.
• Report any issues or material requirements promptly.

Essential Requirements

• Valid CSCS Card.
• Proven experience as a plumber on residential new‑build or high‑rise construction projects.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong understanding of current plumbing installation methods.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to producing high‑quality work.

Desirable

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
• IPAF or PASMA certification.
• Experience working on multi‑storey residential developments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
