Job summary

Shoosmiths is seeking a conveyancing support professional for our Plot Sales team in the Real Estate practice. The role supports residential development disposals across England, Wales and Scotland, handling key processes from file opening to completion and accounting packs.

You will manage caseloads with minimal administrative support, attend training, and develop expertise in land registry, missives and related documentation. Competitive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• IT literate and able to follow firm policy
• Ability to manage own caseload without admin support
• Willingness to participate in training and obtain relevant qualifications
• Attend courses/seminars outside of office hours if necessary

Responsibilities

• Issuing of plot sale paperwork to include missives/settlements for plot reservation/completions
• Dealing with pre-contract enquiries
• Preparation of completion statements
• Carrying out completion procedures
• Dealing with Land Registry of Scotland
• Managing registration procedures
• Preparing documents for part exchange/settlement/chain break properties
• Online tax returns
• Use of Land Registry online
• Procurement of conveyancing searches
• Handling incoming calls
• Opening new files and inception
• Closing files including outstanding balances
• Processing indents for accounts completion packs
• Using Word/Excel for production of spreadsheets and reports
