Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a Play Assistant for Balbeggie Primary School. The role supports children with high-quality care, arts, crafts, storytelling, and outdoor activities in a term-time, 16 hours/week arrangement. Training and progression toward an SSSC-approved childcare qualification are provided.

You will work with the Nursery and School Teams to create a safe, inclusive environment and participate in planned outings under supervision.

Qualifications

• No entry qualifications are required; you will be supported to work towards a recognised qualification approved by the SSSC.
• Must register with the SSSC within three months of commencing employment.
• PVG Scheme/Disclosure checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing high-quality care and a range of stimulating activities (arts, storytelling, physical play).
• Organise trips and outings meeting children's needs and interests.
• Work closely with Nursery Team and wider School Team to support learning and development.
• Support a safe, inclusive environment and maintain confidentiality.
