Job summary

Perth & Kinross Council is seeking a Play Assistant for Balbeggie Nursery in Balbeggie Primary School. The role is 16 hours per week during term time, ideally 11:15am–2:00pm, and offers a pathway to childcare qualifications under SSSC guidance.

You will be part of a committed team, supporting high-quality care and a broad, engaging range of activities while fostering a safe, inclusive environment for children and families.

Qualifications

• No entry qualifications are required, but you will be supported to work towards a qualification approved by the SSSC.
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive environment for children.
• Willingness to register with SSSC within 3 months of starting.
• Commitment to professional development and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing high-quality care and a range of stimulating activities.
• Organise arts and crafts, storytelling, physical play and trips.
• Work closely with Nursery and School teams to support learning and development in a safe environment.
