Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking an experienced Platform Manager to lead the Core Banking Platform’s evolution, performance and operational excellence. This strategic leadership role sits at the heart of our technology estate, ensuring security, resilience and alignment to business priorities.

You’ll work with engineering teams, architects, stakeholders and suppliers to shape the platform roadmap and drive continuous improvement, delivering real value for colleagues and members.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technology platforms in complex environments.
• Proven ability to deliver platform strategy with operational excellence.
• Experience managing technology roadmaps, priorities, risks and dependencies.
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices and service operations.
• Experience managing platform reliability, resilience and performance.
• Knowledge of risk management, compliance and governance frameworks.
• Confident stakeholder communicator who can simplify complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Core Banking Platform.
• Ensure platform priorities support organisational objectives and broader technology strategies.
• Own platform priorities, managing backlogs, dependencies and risks.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, removing obstacles and ensuring delivery.
• Drive operational excellence across platform performance, stability and service health.
• Oversee risk, security, governance, audit and compliance activities.
• Build strong relationships across Engineering, Architecture, Security, Operations and suppliers.
