Job summary

Arm is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Manchester-based banking platform. The role is hybrid, 2–3 days onsite weekly, supporting core banking with Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform and an internal developer platform (Backstage).

You will build reliable pipelines, implement security controls and mentor peers in an Agile team. Essential experience includes production DevOps, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform and strong observability practices.

Qualifications

• Several years of DevOps or platform engineering experience with production systems.
• Hands-on Kubernetes or OpenShift administration and operation.
• Terraform and CI/CD pipelines implementation and maintenance.
• Observability with metrics, alerting and SLOs, plus automation of tasks.
• Ability to design automated checks and controls within delivery platforms.
• Clear communication and collaboration in an Agile team.

Responsibilities

• Builds and runs Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms, configures clusters, upgrades, capacity, networking, storage and security.
• Writes and maintains Terraform modules and environments with testing and review.
• Enhances Backstage and templates, integrates product teams for safe self-serve.
• Designs CI/CD pipelines with build, test, security scans, artefact management and rollback.
• Supports releases of core banking services with cross-team collaboration.
• Treats platform as a product, measures adoption, and improves user experience.
• Troubleshoots complex platform issues and participates in on-call rota.
