Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd. is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a 12-month banking-sector contract in Manchester. Hybrid work with 2-3 days on site.

You will build and operate Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms, write Terraform modules, and advance an internal developer platform (Backstage) to enable product teams to self-serve safely. Qualifications

Several years of professional experience in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE.
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift.
Expertise in Terraform and CD pipelines.
Experience with observability tooling and SLO/SLI definitions.
Experience building automated checks and policy as code.
Clear communication within an Agile team.

Responsibilities

Builds and runs Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms with cluster config, upgrades, capacity, networking, storage and security policies.
Writes and maintains Terraform modules and environments across cloud resources with testing and review.
Enhances Backstage catalog entries, templates, plugins and documentation for self-serve product teams.
Designs and maintains CI/CD pipelines with build, test, security scanning, artefact management, deployment strategies and rollback.
Implements metrics, logging, tracing and alerting; defines SLOs and dashboards; automates runbooks.
Treats the platform as a product; gathers feedback and drives adoption and usability.
Mentors junior engineers and participates in on-call rotations.
