Job summary

Ampstek is seeking a hands-on OpenShift Engineer to join the platform team in Glasgow, delivering enterprise container platform excellence on a tier-1 banking environment.

You will manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, support CI/CD onboarding, and troubleshoot production systems, while contributing to runbooks and documentation in a modern, regulated setting. This hybrid Glasgow-based role offers growth within a global investment bank platform team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Linux / infrastructure / DevOps roles.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes administration.
• Experience with Docker or Podman, YAML and Helm.
• Basic scripting (Bash, Python or Ansible).
• Familiarity with Git and a CI/CD tool (Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab CI or ArgoCD).

Responsibilities

• Support and administer Red Hat OpenShift 4.x clusters in production and non-production.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot containerised applications (pods, deployments, routes, services).
• Assist with cluster upgrades, patching and routine maintenance.
• Manage projects/namespaces, user access and resource quotas.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and application onboarding onto the platform.
• Respond to incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation.
