Job summary

Pulse Group is exclusively looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Data Centre Services team of a world‑leading university. The role focuses on the physical infrastructure behind cutting‑edge research and teaching, spanning on‑prem storage, backup, and three data centres including a new HPC facility.

You will handle enterprise storage and backup operations, drive a NetWorker to Commvault migration, and contribute to major infrastructure projects with independence and ownership.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of servers, storage, networking and infrastructure.
• Experience with IBM Storage, Fibre Channel, Rubrik, NetWorker or Commvault.
• Comfortable working across on-prem / Data Centre environments.
• Linux experience would be highly beneficial but isn’t essential.
• Independent worker who can take ownership.
• Hands-on Data Centre experience such as racking, stacking and cabling would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise storage and backup operations across Data Centres.
• Support infrastructure across multiple Data Centres and storage deployment.
• Lead storage procurement and deployment activities.
• Oversee migration from NetWorker to Commvault during the project.
