Job summary

Viridien is seeking a highly motivated graduate or early-career professional to join our UK Data Centre team. The role focuses on development, implementation and support of our HPC infrastructure, with a proactive approach to data centre operations.

You will work on Linux-based systems, contribute to automation, and participate in IT service processes to ensure reliable HPC and cloud services. You will gain hands-on experience with HPC hardware, storage, and compute, while collaborating with

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related computing subjects.
• Equivalent technical qualifications or demonstrable practical learning may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation, maintenance and decommissioning of HPC hardware.
• Assist with CPU and GPU systems, oil-immersion servers, air-cooled servers, and storage.
• Help maintain infrastructure services and data centre equipment.
• Follow rack cabling standards and support activities within the IT workshop.
• Assist with spare-parts control, equipment audits and lease-management activities.
• Assist with identifying and automating repetitive hardware and operational processes to improve efficiency.
• Support the development, testing and documentation of simple scripts or automation tools.
• Join project and troubleshooting meetings and conference calls as required.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation, knowledge articles, operating procedures and handover notes.
• Follow IT service management, change control, health and safety, security and quality processes.
