Job summary

Neilson Financial Services is hiring a Staff Full-Stack BI Engineer to lead data platform transformation. You’ll move from a SQL Server-centric setup to a scalable Azure Databricks-based platform, while keeping Power BI reports crisp and trusted by stakeholders.

You’ll design data products, govern security and access, and mentor engineers across teams to raise the bar on modelling and reporting.

Qualifications

• Significant BI or data engineering experience with end-to-end accountability.
• Strong data modelling, semantic layer design, and core reports ownership.
• Production experience with Azure Databricks and Power BI at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own complex data products from concept to governed reports.
• Architect a cloud-native lakehouse on Azure Databricks with Delta Lake.
• Define platform standards, reusable patterns, and Python-first approaches.
• Rationalise KPIs and enforce single versions of truth in the semantic layer.
• Govern access controls, security, and documentation standards.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, ops, and regions.
