Job summary

British Garden Centres is seeking a Garden Centre Team Leader for the Chilton centre. You will lead the plants department, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong people skills, and at least two years of plant knowledge with horticulture experience. Forklift training is a plus and heavy lifting may be involved.

Qualifications

• Two years of plant knowledge and prior horticulture experience required.
• Physically fit due to hands-on role with some heavy lifting.
• Forklift license would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant area.
• Supervising duties including key holder opening and closing store as required.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Organise team schedules and handle staff issues.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide training as needed.
• Fill in for absent employees and assist teams to complete projects.
• Ensure employees follow company policies and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain a high and consistent standard of customer service.
• Ensure business compliance with health and safety and food safety laws and regulations.
