British Garden Centres is seeking a Garden Centre Department Manager to lead a busy retail team, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient operations. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage schedules, stock and cash processes in a high-volume environment.

Heavy lifting may be required, and weekends are included in the 40-hour week. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience at department manager level or higher within retail,

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Manage Garden Centre people resources and staffing needs.
• Forward plan work schedules to meet busy demand.
• Coordinate daily resources to ensure high-quality customer service.
• Deploy team to maintain shop floor standards.
• Oversee cash and till operations and financial controls.
• Lead the department and its staff to achieve targets.
• Perform operational audits for compliance in the area.
• Handle key holder duties for opening and closing centers.
• Ensure health and safety compliance across the department.
• Protect employee and customer welfare in daily operations.
