Job summary

Brett Aggregates is seeking a reliable Operative for Cliffe Terminal to support safe, efficient handling and processing of aggregate materials. You will work as part of a busy team, ensuring safety, high housekeeping standards and excellent customer service.

Key duties include operating mobile and fixed plant, loading vehicles and rail/barge traffic, conducting routine inspections and basic maintenance. A proactive, team-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mobile and/or fixed plant in a production or processing environment (NVQ or working towards desirable).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound mechanical understanding of plant and equipment.
• Self-motivated, flexible and proactive, with strong problem-solving ability.
• Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile and stationary plant in line with site procedures.
• Load lorries, trains and barges efficiently and professionally.
• Carry out routine inspections of plant and equipment.
• Undertake basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain high standards of site cleanliness, including spillages, haul roads and bunds.
• Promptly report accidents, incidents, near misses, or changes in material quality.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support where required.
