Job summary

GAP Hire Solutions in the Midlands is seeking a proactive Customer Hire Controller to join our Kier account. You'll coordinate hire requests, raise POs and contracts, and liaise with suppliers and customer sites to ensure smooth delivery of plant and equipment.

In a fast-paced environment you'll manage multiple priorities, monitor deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain accurate administration while delivering excellent customer service and building strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Hire Desk, Plant Hire, Customer Service or Administration role is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
• The ability to prioritise your workload, work independently and contribute as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, with the ability to learn and use internal systems proficiently.
• A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach to work.
• Plant hire or construction industry knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
• A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process on- and off-hire requests accurately and efficiently.
• Raise purchase orders and hire contracts using internal systems.
• Liaise with suppliers and customer sites to arrange supply of plant and equipment.
• Monitor deliveries, resolve issues and escalate when necessary.
• Ensure supplier paperwork relating to hires is accurate and complete.
• Build relationships with suppliers, customer sites and internal teams.
• Manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
