Job summary

GAP Hire Solutions in the Midlands is seeking a proactive Customer Hire Controller to join our Kier account. You'll coordinate hire requests, raise POs and contracts, and liaise with suppliers and customer sites to ensure smooth delivery of plant and equipment.

In a fast-paced environment you'll manage multiple priorities, monitor deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain accurate administration while delivering excellent customer service and building strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Hire Desk, Plant Hire, Customer Service or Administration role is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
• The ability to prioritise your workload, work independently and contribute as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, with the ability to learn and use internal systems proficiently.
• A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach to work.
• Plant hire or construction industry knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
• A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

At GAP Hire Solutions, we're looking for a proactive Customer Hire Controller to join our busy and growing team supporting the Kier account. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating hire requirements, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

In this role, you'll be at the centre of the hire operation, managing customer enquiries and requests while ensuring efficient, accurate administration.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll process customer on- and off-hire requests accurately and efficiently in line with company procedures. You will raise purchase orders and hire contracts using internal systems, liaising with suppliers and customer sites to arrange the supply of plant and equipment.

A key part of the role will involve monitoring deliveries, resolving issues and escalating where necessary. You'll ensure that all supplier paperwork relating to hires is accurate and complete, while building and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, customer sites and internal teams.

You’ll also manage multiple priorities and work within agreed deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment.
