Job summary

Smiths Gloucester Limited is seeking a Plant Workshop Service Coordinator to oversee administrative, compliance, service, maintenance and cost-control processes for the plant hire fleet. You will act as the central link between workshop, hire operations, transport, suppliers, operators, site teams and management.

The role aims to improve fleet visibility, reduce downtime, support preventative maintenance, ensure statutory inspections are completed on time, and maintain accurate lifecycle records

Qualifications

• Experience in transport or plant workshop environment preferred.
• Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
• Understanding of compliance and statutory inspections a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records for all plant assets and history.
• Coordinate workshop administration and track jobs through to completion.
• Liaise with fitters, supervisors, plant managers and hire desk teams.
• Monitor downtime and ensure timely maintenance and servicing.
• Coordinate external repairs when needed and plan workshop workload.
• Support cost control and reporting for fleet assets.
