Job summary

Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is a family-run business with depots across the South-West. We are seeking a Plant Workshop Coordinator to oversee admin, compliance, service, maintenance and cost control for our plant hire fleet, acting as the link between workshop, operations, suppliers and management.

The role focuses on improving fleet visibility, reducing downtime and ensuring statutory inspections are completed on time, with the ability to adapt hours to interview discussions.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Transport or Plant workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records for all plant assets and associated data incl. fleet number, make and model, serial numbers, purchase dates, service history and inspections.
• Support administration of a circa £20 million plant fleet with asset visibility and control.
• Maintain plant files, digital records, certificates, inspection documents and compliance records.
• Ensure plant movements, allocations, transfers and off-hires are recorded promptly.
• Coordinate daily workshop administration; log, prioritise and track jobs through to completion.
