In this hands‑on leadership role you’ll own day‑to‑day operations, manage compliance, performance conversations, toolbox talks, and ensure maximum equipment availability while delivering cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Running the service department - overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
• Managing equipment checks - including Red Pen Checks and compliance inspections.
• Championing workshop safety - embedding safe working practices and high standards.
• Overseeing repairs - ensuring maximum equipment availability.
• Leading and developing the team - coaching, supporting, and driving performance.
• Maintaining statutory training - ensuring all qualifications remain up to date.
• Ensuring compliance across the workshop and yard.
• Processing timesheets accurately and on time.
• Delivering toolbox talks and regular team briefings.
• Monitoring spend - analysing PO reports to identify savings and highlight overspend.
• Supporting recruitment of workshop fitters when required.
• Driving engagement and productivity across the department.
