Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland (Tayside & Argyll region) is hiring a Plant and Cable Maintenance Manager to oversee a team of managers, maintenance engineers, technicians and fitters. You will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance to keep transmission assets safe, reliable and compliant.

Responsibilities include supervising the maintenance team, driving cost savings and quality improvements, managing Opex and KPIs, coordinating emergency response, and strengthening our safety culture with

Qualifications

• Experience in operation and maintenance of plant and cable assets, ideally ISO 55000.
• Senior Authorised Person experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong focus on safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a maintenance team to ensure inspections, planned works and urgent repairs are safe and effective.
• Provide leadership and identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
• Manage performance and budget forecasts with clear KPIs and Opex reporting.
• Oversee 24/7 network response during major events, ensuring organized, resilient operations.
• Foster a strong safety culture and develop procedures to support safe working practices.
