Job summary

SSE plc's SSEN Transmission unit in Scotland is hiring a Plant and Cable Maintenance Manager to lead a team of engineers, technicians and fitters. You will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across the Tayside & Argyll region to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operation of transmission assets.

The role emphasizes supervising maintenance activities, guiding strategy to drive cost savings, managing performance and budgets, and directing actions during major events.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with operation and maintenance of plant and cable assets, preferably ISO 55000.
• Experience leading a team within an electrical maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 55000, ESQCR, CDM and Health and Safety at Work regulations.
• Excellent administrative, written and verbal communication skills; data management abilities.
• Full valid driving licence; travel across the operational area is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a maintenance team to complete inspections, planned works and urgent repairs safely.
• Provide leadership aligned with the SSEN Leadership Blueprint and drive cost savings and quality.
• Manage performance and budgets with accurate Opex reporting and KPI tracking.
• Coordinate 24/7 network response and actions during major events like storms.
• Foster a strong safety culture and contribute to policy development for safe practices.
