Job summary

SSEN Transmission in the Tayside & Argyll region is seeking a Plant and Cable Maintenance Manager to lead a team of engineers, technicians and fitters. You will coordinate all planned and reactive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operation of our transmission assets.

You will supervise the maintenance team, drive cost savings and quality, manage budgets and KPIs, and oversee 24/7 incident response, strengthening the network's safety culture and performance across the region.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with plant and cable operations and maintenance.
• ISO 55000 experience preferred.
• Experience leading a maintenance team in electrical environments.
• Strong safety/regulatory knowledge (ISO 55000, ESQCR, CDM, Health and Safety).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with data management skills.
• Full valid driving licence for travel and on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a maintenance team to complete inspections, planned works and urgent repairs safely and effectively.
• Provide leadership aligned with SSEN Leadership Blueprint and identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
• Manage performance and budget forecasts with clear KPIs for the area.
• Coordinate 24/7 network operational response during major events and emergencies.
• Foster SSEN Transmission safety culture and contribute to policy/procedure development.
