Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is seeking a Learner Industry Placement Officer to coordinate learner placements at Newcastle College and support learners through their placement journey. The role involves liaising with employers, curriculum teams, and external partners to ensure high-quality placements and thorough induction processes.

Qualifications

• Hold English & Maths GCSE or equivalent.
• Substantial experience of working with young people, employers, or within an education/learner support environment.
• Hold a current driving licence and have use of a car.
• IT literate with experience in MS Office software and databases.
• Strong administrative skills with good record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage student placements, ensuring learners are matched to appropriate opportunities.
• Act as the main point of contact for learners during the placement process, providing ongoing support and guidance.
• Ensure a minimum of 3 workplace observations for T Level learners are completed across the placement duration, alongside diary/workbook assessment.
• Ensure all placement documentation is completed accurately and timely, maintaining records on systems such as Grofar.
• Monitor learner attendance and progress on placement, addressing issues promptly.
• Assist learners with pre-placement requirements (DBS checks, care certificates, CSCS cards, food hygiene) and arrange comprehensive inductions.
