Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting for a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in Barnsley. The role is a permanent, full-time position with hybrid working combining home and assessment centre time.

The candidate will be an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, conducting PIP assessments and writing evidence-based reports. Salary starts at £42,000 and rises to £46,000 at 12 months on site for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• Registered healthcare professional with UK registration (NMC or HCPC)
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles

Responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face and telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information
• Produce accurate, detailed and evidence‑based written reports
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks
• Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues
• Attend the assessment centre as required
