Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting for a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in Barnsley. This hybrid role blends home working with time at assessment centres to perform PIP functional assessments that determine how health conditions affect daily living.

You'll be an NMC/HCPC registered nurse or allied health professional with at least 1 year of UK clinical experience, writing detailed reports within structured clinical frameworks and using digital systems.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC‑registered professional.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions.
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed).
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone PIP assessments.
• Analyse medical evidence and clinical information.
• Produce accurate, evidence‑based written reports.
• Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues.
• Attend the assessment centre as required.
