Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a lovely primary school in Dewsbury, seeking a Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant to join full-time long-term from September, with potential to become permanent. You will support children across KS1 with phonics, reading, decoding and communication skills.

The role offers market leading rates of pay, a PAYE payment method, and access to CPD through the My-Progression channel.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted phonics support across KS1 to develop reading and decoding skills.
• Support pupils' reading, decoding and communication progress through small groups.
• Collaborate with school staff to plan and deliver phonics sessions.

Salary: £100 - £110 per day

The school is looking to take on a Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September, with the potential to become permanent for the right Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will work across Key Stage 1 / KS1, providing targeted phonics support and helping pupils develop their reading, decoding and communication skills.

The successful Phonics Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting phonics within a primary school setting
• Experience working with children across Key Stage 1 / KS1
• A strong understanding of phonics and early reading
• The ability to provide engaging individual and small group support
• A patient and positive approach to supporting children's learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
