Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture following correct procedures.
• Work one-to-one with patients without direct supervision after competency assessment.
• Check patient identity verbally and by scanning wristbands.
• Label samples accurately and legibly.
• Communicate with laboratory and clinical staff about test requests.
• Order stock from Main Stores and rotate stock to optimise resources.
• Take part in staff rotas and support Phlebotomy Supervisor to maintain staffing levels.
