Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are seeking a capable Phlebotomist to join our busy service. You will work within a dedicated team delivering frontline care to inpatients, outpatients and GP patients on a rota including weekends and bank holidays.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, with proficiency in venepuncture and a commitment to high standards of service delivery in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Flexibility to work over 7 days and weekends on rotation.
• Experience dealing with patients in hospital settings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with laboratory and clinical staff regarding test requests.
• Order stock from Main Stores and rotate stock to maintain supplies.
• Participate in staff rotas and support Phlebotomy Supervisor to ensure adequate staffing.
• Perform venepuncture following correct procedures.
• Identify patients using verbal confirmation and IP wrist bands.
• Ensure accurate labeling of samples.
