Job summary

Qualifications

• Performs venepuncture following correct procedures.
• Accurate and legible labelling of samples.
• Checks patient identification by verbal confirmation and wristband scanning.
• Communicates effectively with laboratory and clinical staff and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with laboratory staff, clinical staff, and external clients regarding tests and requests.
• Order stock from Main Stores to maintain adequate supplies and rotate stock.
• Support Phlebotomy Supervisor/Manager to ensure adequate staffing and coverage.
• Work on a one-to-one basis with patients following competency assessment.
• Perform venepuncture following established procedures and safety protocols.
