Job summary

Randox Laboratories in Cambridge is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our clinic at the John Lewis store. You will perform blood collection for private and corporate clients and ensure a first‑class service from entry to exit.

The role is full‑time, permanent, 40 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends. Applicants must have healthcare or customer service experience, be IT‑literate and eligible to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare or customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manage various software systems and daily tasks.

Contract Offered

Full-time, permanent. We can also consider part time hours.

Working Hours / Shifts

40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9‑month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

Desirable

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
• Valid UK driving licence.
