Job summary

Randox Laboratories is recruiting a Phlebotomist for our clinic at John Lewis in Cheadle. The role involves blood and urine collection, patient data entry, and delivering high-quality customer care within a private health setting.

You will work 4 on 4 off, 7am–7pm, with some weekend shifts. Vaccination against Hepatitis B is required or possible after interview. DBS check is mandatory per Care Quality Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct blood and urine sample collection and data entry into PIS.
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS and upload documentation.
• Represent the company at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception and other administrative duties.
• Complete forms, specimen labelling and order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy across software systems.

Contract Offered

Full-time, permanent

Working Hours / Shifts

4 on 4 off, working 7am to 7pm, including some weekends. These shifts are subject to change.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria:

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable:

• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
• Valid UK driving licence.
