St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response and Night Time Economy) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). There is also a buoyant social enterprise network which delivers first aid training and supplies medical consumables to businesses and consumers.
Job Summary
The Philanthropy Manager role sits within the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team comprising Trusts and Statutory, Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships.
This role reports to the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships with the overall responsibility of the Philanthropy Team (currently two staff). With a current income target of almost £700k with the aim to grow to over £1m in 2025, this is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage an ambitious team fundraising across the UK and USA.
This position will be crucial to the success of a developing Philanthropy and Partnerships team and will be responsible for leading, developing and ensuring the implementation of the Philanthropy programme to meet ambitious growth targets for the future of St John.
The successful candidate will lead and manage our work with influential philanthropists and stakeholders as well as ensuring we have an outstanding Philanthropy programme, inspiring donors and prospects to invest for the long term in the invaluable work of St John, building resilient communities and empowering the next generation of young people.
