Job summary

Boots Pharmacy is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to deliver patient-centred service in-store, advise on medicines, coach the dispensary team and manage daily operations while ensuring safe and compliant practice. The role emphasises leadership, high standards of care, and strong patient engagement.

You will work with the pharmacy team to triage patients, handle prescriptions and use pharmacy systems to support service delivery and safety in the store setting.

Qualifications

• Registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI).
• Experience coaching and leading a dispensary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Motivation to improve care for teams, customers and patients.
• Desire to deliver services and outstanding patient care.
• Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about medicines, products or Macmillan Cancer Support.
• Delivering services as needed by the store.
• Building relationships with the pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring higher standards of care.
• Assisting with triage of patients and distributing prescription handouts.
• Taking ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
• Managing operational tasks including replenishing stock, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs while safeguarding patient safety.
