Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in the Purchasing section and homecare services. The role involves maintaining the JAC system, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with contracts, safety policies, and national standards.

You will participate in staff appraisals and rota coverage for a 7-day service, contributing to safe, efficient pharmaceutical procurement.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) required.
• Active accreditation as Accuracy Checking Technician (ACCT) preferred.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily management of the Purchasing section and liaise with suppliers.
• Use JAC pharmacy computer system to manage orders and monitor national/ regional contracts.
• Disseminate information on shortages and changes to colleagues in a timely way.
• Assist in sourcing alternatives when contract items are unavailable.
• Support Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist with unlicensed medicines handling and best-practice procurement.
• Contribute to purchasing for safety policies and recall management.
