Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant for weekends at HMP Winchester. The role involves general dispensary duties, stock management and delivering pharmacy services to prison wings.

You will support the pharmacy team during weekend shifts and handle prescription receipt and dispensing processes. The position requires NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent, with English and Maths at Level 2, and strong communication and IT literacy.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent
• Medicines handling experience desirable
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• Good communication and IT literacy
• Ability to work in a busy environment and follow procedures

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to deliver services
• Provide timely service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and manage stick returns
• Collect orders from suppliers and arrange returns
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

HMP Winchester is a male prison that has a capacity for 706 inmates and are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support the pharmacy team for weekends only.

Hours

Weekends only - 19 hours per week

0730 - 1730

30 min unpaid break

Please note if bank holidays fall on a weekend shift then you will need to be prepared to cover this.

Salary

Up to £29,723 per annum (Full time equivalent)

Up to £15,059 per annum (part time)

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.
