Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the Prison Healthcare team. You will support general dispensary duties, stock management, and provide timely pharmaceutical services within the prison wings, ensuring patient care standards are met.

You’ll work as part of a dedicated Pharmaceutical team, receive prescriptions, handle stock and supplier orders, and participate in dispensing. Opportunities for professional development and training are offered within a supportive

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or working towards
• Medicines handling experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Responsibilities

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of returns
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Hours

• Monday to Wednesday - 9.00 to 17.00
• Thursday and Friday - 9.00 to 14.00

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £XXXper annum FTE - depending on experience.
