Job summary

Asda Stores in Sinfin is looking for a Pharmacy Colleague to join our in-store pharmacy team on a part-time basis. The role involves patient-facing service, handling prescriptions, and learning through accredited courses to become a Medicine Counter Assistant and, later, a Dispensing Assistant.

The position includes weekend shifts and requires passing an enhanced safeguarding check. Training will cover pharmacy operations and IT systems used in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• NVQ level qualification in pharmacy dispensing or similar.
• Willingness to undertake accredited courses to progress to Medicine Counter Assistant and Dispensing Assistant.
• Enhanced safeguarding checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and process prescriptions accurately.
• Promote and explain additional pharmacy services (Prescription Collection Service, Medicines Use Reviews).
• Support the Pharmacist with patient services and record-keeping (blood pressure checks, smoking cessation programs).
• Collect prescriptions from doctor surgeries and bring to store for collection.
