Job summary

Pets at Home in Handforth, Cheshire, seeks a Product Technologist Support to help develop new pet food products while ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance. This hybrid role focuses on technical development, supplier management and documentation, with three office days per week.

You will create specs, review artwork, manage samples, assist with complaints, and collaborate with Technical, Quality and NPD teams to drive robust product launches for UK pet owners.

Qualifications

• Experience in food, feed, quality, compliance or technical environments is advantageous.
• Understanding of food safety, quality systems or HACCP is desirable.
• Proactive approach and eagerness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of new product development projects ensuring technical activities meet critical timelines.
• Create and maintain product specifications, technical documentation and pack copy.
• Review artwork and product information for accuracy and compliance.
• Support product quality reviews against standards and specifications.
• Manage technical records, samples and documentation for traceability.
• Coordinate with suppliers for samples and palatability testing.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations and technical queries.
• Collaborate with Technical, Quality, Packaging, Supply and NPD teams.
• Support supplier visits, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Keep up to date with pet food legislation and industry standards.
