Job summary

apetito, the UK’s leading food supplier to health and social care sectors, is seeking a detail-focused Food Technologist for its New Product Development team at the UK Head Office in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. You will transform product and ingredient data into accurate, compliant specifications supporting safe meals.

You will collaborate with suppliers, development colleagues and internal stakeholders to ensure legislative compliance and timely delivery from concept to launch and beyond.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science or related discipline
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
• Experience checking food artwork labels for UK/EU laws
• Experience preparing Food Specifications & labels
• Experience checking raw material specifications for accuracy and compliance
• Numerical competency for recipe calculations
• Comfortable working with multiple data sources

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise a busy workload across specifications, product and material queries, artwork checks, legislative updates, product changes and deadlines
• Work with suppliers to prepare and maintain accurate raw material specifications
• Prepare finished product specifications and assess information for compliance
• Gather, interpret and approve supplier, recipe and product data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
• Respond to product and material queries from stakeholders with clear technical information
• Check artwork and associated product information for accuracy and compliance
• Keep internal systems up to date for products, recipes and specifications
• Support development colleagues in the technical setup of new and improved products
• Drive continuous improvement
• Contribute to Product, Systems and Service innovation
• Keep up to date with key legislative changes
