Job summary

FMCG Executive Network Ltd near Winsford seeks an NPD Technologist to drive development from concept to launch, collaborating with customers, production, technical, procurement and commercial teams to hit quality, cost and operational targets.

Lead trials, shelf life and validations, and coordinate cross‑department launch activities to deliver successful launches. Monday–Friday office hours with a base salary £30,000‑£34,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to HND/degree level in a Food Science/Technology or related discipline.
• Experience in food/drink production.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Creative, commercially aware and passionate about food innovation.

Responsibilities

• Manage product development projects within deadlines.
• Research new products and trends in category and relate findings.
• Oversee trials, shelf life, samples and validations for all projects.
• Project manage all stages of own-brand NPD/EPD projects with critical-path planning.
• Coordinate factory trials and documentation for validation and cost updates.
• Collaborate with factory departments to develop projects.
• Provide information to create quality and technical launch documents.
• Arrange launch processes and pre-launch activities across departments.

NPD Technologist

Our client is seeking an NPD Technologist to join their manufacturing site near Winsford. As Senior NPD Technologist, you will play a key role in delivering exciting new products from concept through to launch. Working closely with customers, production, technical, procurement, and commercial teams, you will manage the development process, ensuring products meet quality, cost, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities as NPD Technologist

• Manage projects of product development, following the established procedure within deadlines.
• Research into new products and trends in own category and associated products, providing feedback of key findings.
• Responsibility for trials, shelf life, samples, and industrial validations for all projects.
• Project Management of all stages of own brand NPD/EPD projects, setting up of critical path in conjunction with all key stakeholders
• Factory Trial arrangements and attendance to include completion of required documentation for product validation to include shelf life and other testing as relevant plus updating of costings as required. Communication of results to be made promptly with required actions.
• Liaise with all factory departments for the development of projects.
• Provide all relevant departments with information to create quality and technical documents regarding launch of products in the factory.
• Launch process arrangements, arrange pre-launch meetings, pre- productions and coordinate Launch tracker with all Departments

Requirements as NPD Technologist

• Role in process or factory-based development projects. Experience in food/drink production.
