Job summary

Pets at Home is seeking a Product Technologist Support to help bring innovative pet food products to market, ensuring quality, safety and compliance. This role offers hybrid working from Handforth, Cheshire, with duties spanning development, supplier management, QA and regulatory activities.

You will create and maintain specifications, review artwork, manage technical records and support testing and investigations.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.
• Experience in food, feed, quality, compliance or technical environment (advantageous).
• Understanding of food safety, quality systems or HACCP principles desirable.
• Degree in Food Science/Technology or related field beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of new product development projects and meet critical path timelines.
• Create and maintain product specifications, technical documentation and pack copy.
• Review artwork and product information for accuracy and compliance.
• Support product quality reviews against standards and specifications.
• Manage technical records, product samples and documentation for accuracy and traceability.
• Coordinate with suppliers for samples and palatability testing.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations and technical queries.
• Collaborate with Technical, Quality, Packaging, Supply and NPD teams.
• Support supplier visits, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date with pet food legislation and industry standards.
