Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Secondary Specialism Tutor to support KS3 and KS4 learners across Portsmouth and surrounding areas through personalised 1:1 tuition. Location: Portsmouth & Surrounding Areas. Start: September. Hours: Flexible. Pay: £25-£30 per hour. Type: 1:1 Tuition.

The role offers a September start with long-term placements and opportunities to work with vulnerable learners, including those with SEND/EHCPs.

Qualifications

• Experience in educational settings (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring)
• Strong subject knowledge in secondary curriculum
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred or willingness to travel locally around Portsmouth

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 tutoring to KS3–KS4 learners across Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons aligned to curriculum objectives.
• Monitor and track learner progress, adapting approaches for SEND/EHCP needs.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and Local Authorities as required.
