Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Primary Tutor to support children across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 tuition. This role works on behalf of Local Authorities, delivering tailored educational support for primary learners requiring additional help to access learning.

Based in or around West Sussex, you will develop confidence, core skills, and positive engagement with education, using a nurturing, adaptable approach. Flexible hours and a September start are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Experience supporting primary-aged children
• Good understanding of the primary curriculum
• Ability to adapt learning to meet individual needs
• Experience supporting children with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex

Responsibilities

• Each learner receives a personalised programme designed to support both academic progress and personal development
• Deliver 1:1 tutoring tailored to KS1 and KS2 in West Sussex
• Support learners with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, speech, language needs as appropriate
• Collaborate with Local Authorities to provide tailored educational support
