Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Secondary Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to learners across West Sussex. This role supports KS3 and KS4 students with flexible hours and a September start, working on behalf of Local Authorities to deliver personalised education.

You will help raise confidence and engagement through targeted, subject-specific sessions, with DBS checks desired and willingness to travel across West Sussex to meet students' needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
• Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
• Strong subject knowledge in one or more curriculum areas
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition to secondary students
• Support learners with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, anxiety and other needs
• Adapt sessions to multiple subjects and KS3/KS4 requirements
• Collaborate with Local Authorities on placements and progress
• Build confidence, engagement and positive educational outcomes
