Job summary

NY Highways in Skipton, North Yorkshire, is looking for a Highways Skilled Operative to join a permanent, full-time team. This hands-on role involves kerbing, drainage, traffic management and out-of-hours callouts, with full PPE provided.

You will work outdoors in all weathers, with training and career progression on offer, including nationally recognised highways qualifications and a pathway into supervisory roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways tasks or highways plant operation.
• Relevant Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Banksman and TM1/TM2 knowledge.
• Manual Handling and Emergency First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the local highway network through routine and seasonal works.
• Kerbing, drainage, patching & ironwork repairs; street furniture installation.
• Traffic management and verge maintenance; operate highways plant and equipment.
• Join the out-of-hours rota for emergencies.
